Tagisang Robotics: The Final Battle

        The Antimatter team together with the mobot, Vitrubot, was created to compete in a competition called Tagisang Robotics: Design, Build and Play. The competition will be held at the Mall of Asia on October 28-30, 2014.

Tagisang Robotics: Design, Build and Play is a varsity type robotics competition. It was launched in 2011. The competition intends to raise students’ interest in science, engineering/technology, mathematics and information and communications technology. It enables students to harness and develop skills in critical and creative thinking, teamwork, interpersonal communication and problem solving and has mobilized schools and the private sectors as partners in enhancing the interests of the students in advanced technologies.  
Teams from selected public and private science high schools, S&T Oriented High Schools, and the Philippine Science High School Main Campus can join the Tagisang Robotics. Each team is composed of ten students and a coach.
The Tagisang Robotics is sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology-Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI). DOST-SEI provided the schools with a common Kit-of-Parts which will be used to design and build their robots that will compete in the game. It is free of charge for the public schools while it’s at a cost for the private schools.
There will be awards for the chosen teams, alliances, and coaches. The Best Team will be receiving Php 100,000 plus a trophy and medals for the ten members of the team. The Best Coach
will be receiving Php 30,000 and a medal. The Best Alliance will be receiving Php 150,000 plus a trophy for each of the teams in the Best Alliance and medals for each of the 30 student-members of the three teams in the Best Alliance. The Best Alliance Coaches will be receiving Php 10,000 and a medal for each of the coach in the Best Alliance.


There will also be Special AwardsThese are the Felta’s Most Popular Robot Award, Alexan’s Most Popular Team Award, ThinkLab’s Best Blog Award, and National Instrument Best Engineering Award.
